Facilitating Connection,
Fostering Clarity,
Strengthening Communities

Why Facilitate Connections?

Facilitating connection begins within. It starts by understanding and accepting ourselves, then extends outward—to our families, our circles, our communities, and ultimately the world. My work as a facilitator is one way I create these connections, guiding conversations that help people understand each other, find common ground, and build something meaningful together.

At its core, Facilitating Connections is about clarity—clarity of values, clarity of purpose, and clarity in how we relate to each other. Every small decision we make shapes the bigger picture. By understanding what we stand for, we become more intentional in the lives we create and the cultures we foster.

This is the work I am committed to. It starts with connection—and from there, anything is possible.

Where to start

A design thinking approach to collective facilitation begins with a  transformative space—a framework that acknowledges diverse perspectives while fostering trust, neutrality, and psychological safety.

Conflict resolution isn’t just about addressing disputes; it’s about connecting through controversy, and transforming tension into opportunities for collaboration.

As a facilitator, the role extends beyond guiding discussions—it involves designing the experience itself, ensuring that all voices are heard and valued.

How will we work together?

A well-structured facilitation process starts long before the workshop itself.

Pre-interviews with key participants shed light on ‘where we are now’, identify communication barriers, and establish a foundation of trust.

By making the invisible visible—teams can better understand themselves and each other.

This builds a collective sense of agency, where individuals feel empowered to engage in difficult conversations with a shared goal of innovation and progress.

What is Design thinking?

A critical part of this approach is designing structured yet adaptable mediations.

The impact extends beyond the workshop: participants leave with actionable takeaways—whether it’s creating new success indicators, refined communication strategies, or building a stronger sense of alignment.

As Kari Grain’s concept of Critical Hope suggests, “the ability to imagine multiple future trajectories is key to innovation, and facilitation serves as the catalyst for that vision”.

Corporate Structure and History of Facilitating Connections

Facilitating Connections was founded in December 2014 as a registered sole proprietorship under the BC Partnership Act. The business was born out of a deep curiosity about people, a concern for the planet, and a long-standing interest in conflict resolution. With a background in creative practice and a passion for authentic engagement, I created Facilitating Connections to help groups navigate complexity and connect meaningfully—especially when it matters most.

In the early years, I worked primarily with individual organizations and businesses, supporting them through services such as strategic planning, facilitation, and visioning.

Over time, the work evolved to focus on multi-key participants processes involving government, First Nations, and other rights- and interest-holders.

Today, Facilitating Connections specializes in complex, high-stakes conversations—bringing people together to dream big, resolve conflict, and make thoughtful, inclusive decisions.

Core services include:
Visioning – Dreaming big together Conflict Resolution – Connecting through controversy Strategic Planning Facilitation and Design Thinking

Facilitating Connections works with a network of trusted associates to deliver responsive, creative, and grounded facilitation tailored to each unique context.
