I have an academic background in whole systems thinking which looks at the interdependence and interrelated parts of a system. I have a keen interest in personal and social change, discovering connections and understanding its consequence over time; seeing patterns is key to understanding dynamics in complex systems.
My approach is to build a trusting space where people can engage in deeper and more honest conversations. I believe if we can actively listen to one another and share authentically then we will work better together.
My role as facilitator is to be curious and help guide conversations by asking meaningful questions. These questions can reveal tensions/gaps and this is where the real work begins. Building relationships and the ability to hold different stories are key to moving forward. I believe having clear boundaries allows for increased confidence and creativity.
My goal is to design gatherings that host good controversy and build trust. Being clear about the importance of who is gathering and why. I believe everyone has wisdom and my role is to engage people in different ways to ensure everyone feels heard. It’s a prerequisite for tackling challenging issues and allows for more minds to problem solve together and inspire positive change. My leadership style is one of generous authority.
